Location
Tetherow sits on Bend's west side, bordered by the Deschutes National Forest — close enough to downtown restaurants and breweries for an easy night out, yet secluded enough to feel like a true retreat. For buyers who want ski, golf, and trail access without leaving city limits, Tetherow is about as central as it gets.

Fun Fact
Tetherow takes its name from Solomon Tetherow, a Missouri pioneer who in 1845 led a wagon train of 66 wagons and nearly 300 people through Central Oregon on the ill-fated Meek Cutoff route — crossing the Deschutes River at a spot that later became known as Tetherow Crossing. The resort's golf course opened in 2008, and the name was chosen in 2005 to honor that pioneering history — a fitting tie for a community built on 700 acres that not long ago was open high desert.
University of Oregon Special Collections holds Solomon Tetherow's actual 1845 journal.
